For Vista:

* Click (Vista icons), and then right-click computer and select Properties.
* Click System Protection (click OK If you are prompted warnings).
* Uncheck the box in the list of all the available disk automatically restore point.
* Click Apply.
* Click OK.

For windows xp:

* Click the Start button.
* Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
* In the System Restore tab, check Turn off System Restore or Turn off System Restore on all drives.

For WinME:

* Click Start> "Settings"> Control Panel.
* Double-click the System icon.
* If the system icon is not visible, click View all Control Panel options to display it.
* In the performance tab, click File System.
* In the Troubleshooting tab check Disable System Restore.
* Click OK. Click Yes, when prompted to restart your Windows.
